Xpring Overhaul Introduces Deletable XRP Ledger Accounts

Advancing the Internet of Value can be done through many different initiatives. One of the projects gaining a lot of attention is Xpring. A new developer portal for this technology is now accessible.

An Overview of Xpring

Those who are familiar with Ripple and its ecosystem will have heard the name Xpring before. This project has been around for over  a year and aims to provide a place for XRP as part of the internet of Value. By actively supporting developers building with Ripple’s native asset, an important first step has been taken.

During the first year, Xpring gained support from external partners, developers, and students. Despite the initial excitement, many people still struggle with the barrier to entry associated with blockchain and digital asset development.

Overcoming that hurdle is not easy. The launch of this open developer platform for Xpring will potentially make it easier for coders to integrate money into current or future applications. It is another step forward to make Ripple’s technology and native XRP asset as valuable and appealing as possible.

The Open Developer Platform

Following the launch of Xpring.io, developers can access new tools, services, and a wallet. The Software Development Kit – or SDK – has received numerous updates, as have the XRP Ledger and Interledger blockchains. There is also plenty of documentation to get developer son their way to unlocking the full potential of internet of Value.

In this industry, wallets are a core piece of technology. By granting such a tool to developers, they can begin experimenting with the possibilities. At this time, the built-in Xpring.io wallet supports the XRP Testnet. It is a good place to start for developers looking to build applications that utilize Ripple’s technology.

One new feature introduced as part of the XRP ledger comes in the form of Deletable Accounts. This technique allows users to delete XRP ledger accounts and recover up to 15 XRP. This new method will play a crucial role in the future of sustainably scaling the XRP ledger to millions of accounts.
