Innovation in the payment industry comes from all angles. Worldline firmly believes in pay-by-face systems. So much even that it is rolling out this technology in the real world fairly soon.
Pay-by-Face is Convenient and Secure
As odd as it may sound, pay-by-face solutions make a lot of sense. Banks and payment processors favor biometric solutions.
It adds an extra and unique layer of security to payments, both online and in the real world.
Making such concepts more user-friendly is a difficult challenge. Several companies are trying their hand at doing so.
OneVisage, a Swiss startup, appears to be on the right track. Their new biometric system has attracted the attention of Worldline, among others.
What their model does it allow consumers to pay by scanning their own face. It is a different form of biometric authentication, yet a powerful one.
For Worldline, this system respects user privacy allows consumers to fully control their biometry.
It appears that pay-by-face solutions are gaining popularity. Several pilot programs have been conducted in the second half of 2019.
So far, these trials have been relatively limited to one store in a major city at a time. How things will face for OneVisage’s pay-by-face remains unclear.
Worldline will provide a live demonstration of this technology at the upcoming National Retail Federation. This event takes place in New York later this month.
