Fntoism Justin Sun Kobe Bryant

The cryptocurrency community is always in full swing. Justin Sun, the creator of TRON, recently managed to annoy  a lot of people.

While his Tweet seems harmless enough, many see it was a marketing stunt. This “abuse” of the death of Kobe Bryant doesn’t go over too well with the community. However, it is evident that most of the negative comments are blown out of proportion.

Justin Sun Pays Tribute to Kobe Bryant

Following the death of one of the most iconic NBA players of the 21st century, a lot of people mourn Kobe Bryant. Ina  show of support, many share how they met him. In the case of TRON creator Justin Sun, he too met Mr. Bryant last year. This took place during niTROn 2019.

Sharing that image on social media is innocent enough. Justin Sun event wants to dedicate a moment of silence to Kobe Bryant at this year’s event. An honorable gesture, and one many can appreciate. However, a lot of people see this as an attempt at marketing for TRX.

While that train of thought is not illogical, it isn’t necessarily “real” either. It seems that Sun is a big Kobe Bryant fan, like many were and are.  Sharing a precious memory of meeting such a great person is only appropriate during times like these. To most people it seems unlikely that this is some form of product placement.

Negative Response Galore

It usually doesn’t take long for crypto Twitter to rage over whatever is happening. The Tweet below is just one example of people’s opinions. While the message by Justin Sun can be interpreted as advertising – in the mind of people who would even go that far in the first place – , it seems highly unlikely that was his intention.

Other key examples include gems such as this:

and there is also this one:

It seems evident that there is a lot negative sentiment toward Tron’s creator. This has been the case for some time now, and probably won’t improve in the future. Scrutinizing everything he does and trying to put in a negative spotlight isn’t what this industry is about.
