Digital assets have become of great interest to financial service providers. SBI Group in Japan looks to gain a foothold in this industry. To do so, the firm will invest in Boerse Stuttgart Exchange and Digital Ventures.
A few weeks ago, Boerse Stuttgart unveiled its digital assets trading venture. Known as BSDE, it exposes investors to various digital assets. The venture is provided with the help of Finanzen.net and Axel Springer.
Research into digital assets has been going on for some time. Boerse Stuttgart began exploring the option in 2017. By launching the Digital Ventures division, a clear message was sent to its competitors.
Digital Assets Make an impact
The main focus of this platform is enabling exchange and OTC trading in fungible assets. It now appears this platform triggered interest from SBI Holdings. The company already has a strong blockchain presence. SBI Holdings also takes an interest in cryptocurrencies.
SBI Holdings president Yoshitaka Kitao adds:
“The highest priority upon establishing our digital asset ecosystem is to find trustable financial partners globally. The SBI Group, including its crypto-asset trading platform and other related business operating companies, will fully make use of the collaboration with Boerse Stuttgart Group, to well-establish the actual demands of the digital asset throughout the world.”
This new collaboration will span different aspects. First of all, the focus will shift to cross issuance and listing of digital assets. There will also be a thorough collaboration to strengthen trading and brokerage of these digital vehicles.
An interesting aspect is the desire to create a global custody bridge. Asia and Europe are core markets for digital asset growth. Creating a highly efficient ecosystem is an option well worth pursuing.
